Preservation and enhancement of history in Marquette county.

 
2010 Marquette Named One of the Distinctive Historical Destinations
LST plays a part in that historical presence as we present and preserve our past

 

  • Formed in 1998
  • Non Profit semiprofessional Theater Company, 501 c(3) status
  • $75,000 annual budget
  • Volunteer Board of Directors raise money and write grants
  • Cast of 50+ actors and support crew
  • Produced historical musical Beacon on the Rock in 1999, written and directed by Shelley Russell
  • Lake Superior Theater produced two plays in 2000 - Beacon on the Rock and Haywire, June 28 - July 31, at Fraziers Lake Superior Boathouse
  • Lake Superior Theater produced three plays in 2001 - Beacon on the Rock, Haywire, and Points North, June 27th through August 5th, at Frazier's Lake Superior Boathouse
  • Lake Superior Theatre presented summer adventures for the whole family in 2002, once again they produced - Beacon on the Rock and Points North. There were also two new presentations - Superior Heroes and Escanaba in da Moonlight, July 3rd through August 4th
  • Lake Superior Theatre summer 2003 season  included  productions of - Superior Heroes and Holdin' Our Own: The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - both written by Shelley Russell, and a new play Voelker: Life on the Fly - written by Dave Hansen, July 2nd through August 3rd
  • Lake Superior Theatre summer 2004 season included productions of  Beacon on the Rock,  You're  A Good Man Charlie Brown, Songs on the Shore: The Best of Lake Superior Theatre and Beyond, and  the City of Marquette Youth Theatre's musical production of Dear Edwina Jr.        
     
  • Lake Superior Theatre summer 2005 Season included productions of  1776 , Honk! Jr., Songs For A New World, and  A Gala Day At The  Co-op.

  • Lake Superior Theatre summer 2006 Season included productions of  Forum,  Into the Woods junior,  Christmas Schooner, and Proof

  • Celebrate  2007 with  Anything Goes, Guys&Dolls and the world premier of a new adventure Keepers of the Light. -written by Dave Hansen

  • LST 2008 Season included: Beacon on the Rock, Escanaba In Love, Treasure Island: A Pirate's Tale, and A Midsummer Nights Dream

  • LST 2009 Season included: Guys On Ice, Anatomy of a Murder, MacSith, and The Orphan Train

  • LST 2010 Season included: Lake Stories, Little Women, Last Five Years, Twelfth Night, and The Lion, the Slave and the Rodent.

    Lake Superior Theatre is located at 270 Lake Shore Blvd. between the Lower Harbor Marina & Coast Guard Break Wall in Marquette, MI.  Parking at Mattson Park, a short walk from the theatre.
